HIGHLIGHTS FROM NEW MEDIA CAUCUS EVENTS AT THE CAA CONFERENCE, DALLAS 2008
This edition features highlights of the New Media Caucus events at CAA 2008, Dallas and at the Dallas Contemporary. The edition includes the panel report "art blogging == global.exhibit(local)”, by panel chair: Paul Catanese (Columbia College, Chicago). It also includes excerpts from "The Synthetic Aesthetics of New Media Art,” panel chair: Carolyn Kane (San Jose State University), with papers by Michael Jay McClure, PhD (The University of Wisconsin, Madison) and Andrea Ackerman (independent artist). Also featured is Real Time, a New Media Caucus exhibition of mobile phone art-making at the Dallas Contemporary that ran concurrently with the conference. This edition includes an introduction by Leslie Raymond (University of Texas at San Antonio) to the exhibition and reception events, and an interview with Dean Terry (University of Texas, Dallas), the curator of Real Time.
